David is credited with contributing information about the family to Thomas Elmer Will's "Genealogy Facts Regarding Brown Family", of which unfortunately only a one page abstract is known to survive of an essay that ran at least 15 pages. David is in the Census of the Absolon & Mary Browne household in Botetourt and Roanoke counties through 1840 and heading his own in 1850, and thereafter made several moves within the Midwest.
