Anthony graduated from East High School in 1968, and attended Edinboro State College. He began his career as a painter for C.W. Beal, until he started his own successful business MW Painting in 1982. Over the next several years, the business would expand and become Mark Wilcox Construction. Anthony had many loyal employees, including the late Willie "Frank" Gavin (d 2/1/2011 age 55), and Bob and Rob Kalka, just to name a few. His business is now owned by his son Mark Jr. Anthony sponsored and played softball. He was an active member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, and volunteered often.
He was preceded in death by Jeanette Tate and Eddie "Brother" Wilcox II.
He is survived by his two sisters, Rosalee Weaver and Mamie Simpson; his children Robert, Mark Jr. (Tonna), Scott (Laura), Danielle and Philip, his primary caregiver. He is also survived by his four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
