Mrs. Stewart was born in Ruleville, the daughter of the late Rube Berry and Lizzie Bailey Berry. She had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1967. Family was important to her as she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Doyle Stewart of Vicksburg; two sons, Jerry Stewart and his wife Kay of Vicksburg, and Bobby Stewart and his wife Patti of Madisonville, La.; five granddaughters, Kim Ashley and her husband Chuck, Jennifer Bradford and her husband Gary, Lindsey Stewart, Kacey Stewart, and Danielle Garton and her husband Marty; three grandsons, Tommy Stewart and his wife Tammy, Zack Stewart, and Justin White and his wife Susan; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vera White of St. Peters, Mo., Gladys Shipley of St. Louis, Mo., and Juanita Atkinson of Calhoun, La.; and one brother, Charles Berry of Greenville.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Rev. Harold Donald Jr. will officiate.
