ANDERSON — Charlotte Moore Armstrong, 89, aka Aunchiedolly, Aunt Dolly and Granny, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on March 9, 2015, after an extended illness.

She was born in Columbia, Tenn., on July 29, 1925. Charlotte married Jake H. Armstrong in 1941. They moved to Anderson in 1953.

To this union nine children were born: Charles Armstrong, Robert Armstrong, David Armstrong, Larry Armstrong, JoeAnn Burk, Janice Marie Armstrong, Lois Armstrong Greene, James Lewis Armstrong and Pamela Stokes.

Her hobbies included praising the Lord, church usher, gardening, shopping, traveling, cooking, watching old Westerns and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jake H. Armstrong; her daughter, Janice Marie Armstrong; her son, James Lewis Armstrong; her parents, Charlie and Laura Moore; four brothers, Johnny, LeRoy, Robert Allen and James Moore; one sister, Willie Mae Nelson; nephews, Charlie B., Willie Lee, and Daily Moore; two greatnephews; and one great-granddaughter.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Charles (LouAnn), Robert, David (Evelyn), Larry (Garnetta), JoeAnn, Lois (Dwight) and Pamela (Keith); three special nieces, Louise Holt, Gladys Childs and Shirley Gooch; a special nephew, Johnny (Marie) Nelson; special sister- in-law, Mattie Moore, all of Nashville, Tenn.; and a host of great-nieces and nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her special friends were Mazine Ricard, Mozell Tellis, Rose Harris, Weddie Mae Green and the late Nettie B. Armstrong.

Services will be Saturday at noon. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon at Anderson Zion Baptist Church, 2008 Rev. J.T. Menifee St., Anderson. Officiating will be Pastor Marlon Collins. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Services were entrusted to L.C. May Funeral Services.
