John moved to Pontiac in 1962 and worked for GM and retired with 29 years of service. John loved his cowboy boots, hat and had a sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his daughter, Rosetta Brooks, son Christopher Steward, sister Magnolia Stewart, brothers Edward Stewart Obry Nut, and Buster Stewart. John married the late Rosie (Queen) Steward and to this union four children were born
