He was a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, also a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 406.
He is survived by two sons Gary Douglas Carber and Ray Paul Carber.
He was preceded in death by his wife, May Alice LeJeune Carber, a daughter, Sherry Carber Dunnahoo, parents, Howard Frederic and Grace Chance Brannon Carber, brothers, Oscar Carber, Howard F. Carber and Billy Carber.
Graveside services at 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Garden, Baker, LA, on Friday, March 13, 2015.
