Oscar Willis Allen was born on Saturday, 08 Oct 1892 in Fowler, Otero, Colorado to Albert Willis Allen and Mary Louisa McFarland. He lived in Liberty, Linn, Kansas on 05 Jun 1900. Then in 1901 the family moved to American Ridge near Troy, Idaho, where he received his education. He lived in South Troy, Latah, Idaho on 07 May 1910. He lived in Cavendish, Nez Perce, Idaho on 05 Jun 1917. In the spring of 1918 he lived in Alberta, Canada where the Allen’s bought and farmed wheat land for two years. The Allen’s got ran out because of damaging hailstorms and -48° winters. In the fall of 1920 found him in Clarkston, Asotin, Washington. He lived in the Lewiston-Clarkston valley for the rest of his life. Oscar worked in a bakery owned by the Miller’s at 848 Main St. in Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho. Then on 11 Oct 1923 after having worked for them for a little over a year the Allen’s bought the bakery. He lived in Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho on 05 Apr 1930. The Allen Bakery was sold on 03 Aug 1937 in Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho after 13 y 9 m 23 d where they churned out many a wedding cakes (Viola frosted many, many) and breads (Oscar baked the best rolls). He lived in West Orchards, Nez Perce, Idaho on 03 Apr 1940. He lived in Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho in 1942. He moved on 01 Aug 1944 to Clarkston, Asotin, Washington his last home. He died on Tuesday, 10 Apr 1973 in Clarkston, Asotin, Washington. He was buried on Saturday, 14 Apr 1973 in Normal Hill Cemetery, Lewiston, Nez Perce, Idaho.

Oscar had a love of baking breads, camping, going to the lakes, traveling and a huge love of fishing. The Allen’s entertained quite often.

The funeral service was conducted Saturday at 2 pm at Merchant Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph C. W. Lee of the Clarkston United Methodist Church officiating with a procession to meet at the Normal Hill Cemetery. The pallbearers were George E. Clark, Willard R. Clark, Robert L. Clark, Raymond C. Whitesel, Harvey Spears, Ray Allen and Steve Allen.
