Shirley was the daughter of the late Clyde and Evie Lussardi.
She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, class of 1953, and also attended Cecil’s Business College. She retired from Vulcan Materials Company in Pacolet after 37 years of service.
Survivors include her loving husband Samuel Millwood, who was the love of her life for 61 years; sons, Rickey (Linda) Millwood of Boiling Springs; Terry Millwood of the home; daughter, Diane (Terry) Kuykendall of Boiling Springs; granddaughters, Rachel and Kristen Theo, of Boiling Springs, Tracy (Kevin) Taylor of Lake Bowen; grandsons, Jeff (Amanda) Kuykendall of Virginia, and Matthew Kuykendall of Boiling Springs; great granddaughters, Chadee Theo, Layla Morris, of Boiling Springs and Preslee Taylor of Lake Bowen; and a great grandson, Jackson Kuykendall; sisters, Jackie Pate of Spartanburg, and Sandra Bowers of Bessemer City, NC.
She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and of The New Covenant of Joy Sunday School class.
The family received friends prior to the service at 2:00 - 3:15 PM, Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Floyd’s Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372.
Services followed at 3:30 PM, in the Chapel. Burial was in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372, conducted by the Rev. Jack Dodds.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Morningside Baptist Church Youth Department, 897 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to one’s choice.
The family extended their thanks to all of the physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists that took care of Mrs. Millwood for the past six years.
