Peter Gisi was born in 1919 on a farm near Hosmer in Edmunds County, South Dakota, the son of Baldaser & Theresa 'Heier' Gisi. He spent his growing up years there on the farm and attended rural schools.

He married Veronica 'Fanny' Helena Zimmerman on 2 May 1938 in Hillsview, McPherson County, South Dakota. They rented various places and farms until they bought their own place in 1947 where they farmed the rest of their lives.

Peter worked in the CCCamp for a short time and then became a farmer and raised some livestock. In addition he raised potatoes and produce.

Peter was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ipswich. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge in Aberdeen.

Peter & Veronica had 4 children, three sons and one daughter.

Peter died of an apparent heart attack at his home on the farm early on Easter Sunday morning 2 Apr 1994.

He is greatly missed by his surviving wife, 4 children, 22 grandchildren, & 16 great grandchildren.
