The son of William Robert and Cora (Johnson) Bowling was born on February 13, 1936 in Terry, Montana.
Darrell served in the United States Army, was a former school teacher, retired from Claridge after over 20 years of service, and was a faithful member of Piercetown Holiness Church where he served as both a board member and Sunday School teacher for many years. His greatest accomplishment was providing strong, compassionate leadership to his family and being Daddy to his two sons. He was married to his wife, Luevella, for 36 wonderful years.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Victor Bowling, Lowell Bowling, Harold Bowling, Hugh Bowling, and Alvah Bowling; and four sisters, Ellen Vaught, Alicia Hancock, Irene Solomon and Vada Thacker.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Luevella (Bower) Bowling of the home; two sons, Theron Eugene Bowling of Tulsa, Oklahoma and William Randolph Bowling of Hasty, Arkansas; one brother, Ray Bowling of Harrison, Arkansas; one sister, Beulah Wells of Virginia and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10:00 am at Piercetown Holiness Church with Anthony Bower and Ron Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Hasty Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 8 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
Pallbearers include J.C. Bower, Luell Bower, Dwight Bower, Billy Dail Bower, Paul Hancock and Richard Bower. Honorary pallbearers include Theron and Randolph Bowling and board members and members of Piercetwon Holiness Church.
