Addie May Dyer was the daughter of John Walen and Anna (Peterson) Dyer. She married Seth Arden Roath on November 24, 1887 Tyner, Kansas. He was the son of Wilson Glenn and Ellen (Smith)Roath.

To this union ten children were born John, Frederick, George, Edward, Pearl, William, Harry, May, Edith, and Frank. Three of the children died in infancy John, Pearl and May. A daughter Edith (Eva) and a son Frederick preceded Addie's death.
