Memorial Mass for Meinard Alcuin Yosten is set for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Rosary/Vigil will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Scott Funeral Home in Muenster. A private family burial will follow at a later date. Mr. Yosten died at his home in Muenster on February 28, 2015.


Born November 3, 1935 in Muenster, Meinard was one of the seven children born to Nick and Rosa (Hesse) Yosten. He was a lifelong resident of Muenster and a graduate of Sacred Heart School.

Meinard was inducted into the US Marine Corp on May 31, 1954 in San Diego, Camp Pendleton, California. He served 24 months at the US Naval Air Station in Alsugi, Japan and was honorably discharged on April 14, 1958.

Meinard is survived by his sisters: Polly Spires of Gainesville and Armella Cler of Muenster; his brother, Nick and wife Marian Yosten of Hereford, Texas; his sisters-in-law: Francis Yosten of Muenster and Magdelan Yosten of Muenster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Rosa (Hesse) Yosten, and his brothers, Tony, Werner and Herbie Yosten.
Honorary pallbearers were his nieces and nephews.
