"Edmund H. (Ed) Arnold, 82, of Waymart, died Wednesday evening October 15, 2008 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, after a brief illness.

He and his wife, the former Dorothy Escott, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on October 26th.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Floyd and Lillian Yarrington Arnold and was an army veteran. Prior to retirement he was employed at Anheuser-Busch in North, New Jersey, and was a member of the Waymart American Legion Post 889.

He is also survived by three sons: Edmund, Marlton, NJ; Bruce, Waymart; and Ken, Lake Jackson, Tx; two daughters: Susan Seickel, Waymart; and Dorothy Schipmann, South Brunswick, NJ, one brother, Wallace, Ohio; and two sisters, Ruth Blevins and Dorothy Mae Shaffer, both of Waymart; ten grandchildren, Brian Seickel, Melissa and Christopher Frank, Jennifer McGowan, and Carol, Jason, Michelle, Joe, Jessica, and Glenn Arnold; neices, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Mortimer, and a sister, Flora Arnold.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 2pm from the Jenkins Funeral Home, 269 Belmont St., Waymart, co-officiated by the Rev. Barry Jaggers; pastor of the Church On The Hill, Carbondale, and the Rev. Gan Arnold; daughter-in-law of the deceased. The American Legion Post 889 will conduct a service at the cemetery. Interment: East Canaan Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from noon until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 65 E. Elizabeth Ave., Suite #502, Bethlehem, Pa. 18018."
