DOLORES M. BERGE
(1928 - 2015)
Dolores M. Berge, of Brillion, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.
She was born on June 8, 1928, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Edward and Ella (Haldorf) Streckert. She was a graduate of Valders High School and went to Manitowoc County Normal Teacher's College. Upon graduation she taught in a one room schoolhouse in the Collins' area.
Dolores married Allan Berge in 1950 and moved to Milwaukee and later joined Allan in South Carolina while he was in the service. Upon completion of Allan's military service, they moved back to Wisconsin and farmed in the Collins area before moving to Brillion in 1958. After moving to Brillion she worked at various places in Brillion until she retired. Dolores loved to read and watch the Brewers. She also loved to work in her flower gardens, watch the birds in their backyard, and play games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dolores and Allan always had an ongoing Cribbage battle and she especially enjoyed her time at the cottage on Lake Winnebago.
She is survived by her husband Allan Berge and her children Terry (Cheryl) Berge, of Denver, North Carolina; Lynn (Mark) Ott of Chilton, Pam (Casey) Schneider of Chilton and 8 grandchildren: Jeremie, Chad, Daniel, Suzanne, Ashley, Brandon, Chelsa, Riley; 8 Great-Grandchildren, Braeden, Owen, Benjamin, Cael, Mason, Breleigh, Brantley, Harper and a brother Edward (Janice) Streckert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Orman Streckert; sisters Evelyn Meode, and Ione Leys; and two brother-in-laws Leslie Moede and Clarence Leys.
Friends may call at the Faith United Methodist Church, 204 Horn Street in Brillion from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday, March 1. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. The Rev. Jean Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Evergreen Cemetery, Reedsville.
