Claysville, March 9--Mrs Bertha Cunningham aged 63 years wife of John Cunningham, died suddenly at 5:15 yesterday morning at her home in Wayne street. Her death was due to a second stroke of paralysis and came as a sudden shock. She had suffered a stroke on December 27, 1921 from which she had recovered and had seemingly been restored to her usual health. The past year she had spent several weeks at the home of her daughter, Mrs E E Church at Fairmont, W.Va.
Mrs Cunningham was a daughter of William and Mary Margaret Mitchell and was born in East Finley Township July 4, 1859. Her entire life had been spent in this community. She was an active member of the Claysville Presbyterian church, having united with it in early life. AS long as health permitted she maintained her interest in church affairs. She was specially interested in the work of the Sunday school and the Ladies Aid society. She was for many years a teacher in the Sunday school and had served frequently as president of the Ladies' Aid Society.
Her husband and one daughter, Mrs E E Church of Fairmont, W. Va. survive. She is survived also by one sister, Mrs John Gordon, of West Alexander.
Funeral services conducted by Rev C E Houk will be held in the Claysville Presbyterian church, Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. The interment will be in the Claysville cemetery.
