This verse dedicated to Elizabeth was
written by John R. Thompson as part of his longer poem "The Tribute of One to
Four", and published many years later in Bob Taylor's Magazine
(1910):
"There, too, was Lizzie, with dark brown hair,
With her gentle mien
and her modest air,
Well might a roving glance repose
From its wanderings
light upon eyes like those;
And, noting their softness, at last confess
The
might and the magic of Gentleness."
