Jim was born on May 15,1925 in Beaver Valley to the late Wilfred and Harriet (Armstrong) Plantt. He was a Veteran of WWII enlisting in 1943 to 1946. In 1943 he served in the European Theatre including France and Belgium and returning home to Canada in 1946. He was a member of the Hanover Legion Branch # 130 and chairman of the Hanover Hydro Commision. Jim was a proud partner of Grey Bruce Utility Service, Hanover Truck Bodies and Snow White Laundry which he operated alongside Ernest "Scotty" Duncan.
Survived by loving children Randy (Deborah) Plantt of North Bay, Rick (Bente) Plantt of Hanover, Debra (Homer) Emke of Wingham and Sonya (Alan) Hansen of Whitehorse, Yukon, beloved grandparents to 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. James was predeceased by his brother Wesley Plantt, sisters Lillian King, Elsie Dickson and Jean Pendelton.
