William M. Vanderpool Sr., age 76, longtime resident of Council Bluffs passed away Friday, May 12, 2006. William M. Vanderpool Sr., age 76, longtime resident of Council Bluffs passed away Friday, May 12, 2006. Bill was born in Lowndesboro, Ala., on April 27, 1930. He served two terms in the U.S. Army defending his country. Bill also drove trucks for Crouse Carthage for over 35 years. Survivors include wife of 51 years, Shirley; sons, Bill, Jr. and wife Janie, Jack and wife Beth, and Randy, all of Council Bluffs, George of Kansas City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other family members including brothers and sisters. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 5-6 p.m. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Cutler-ONeill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Rev. Dan Will Officiant.
