Phillips, age 70, a homemaker from Oak Grove, Louisiana will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove with Rev. Annie Mae Farmer and Donald Ray Young officiating. Burial will be in the McGaha Memorial Cemetery in Red Wing, Louisiana. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove, Louisiana. Mrs. Phillips died Wednesday, September 15, 2204 at the West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove. She is preceded in death by her husband, Olan Thomas Phillips; a daughter, Venalee Ann Monk; her parents, Clarence Baggs and Maggie Lou Free Baggs; 3 brothers, Henry, Willie and Harvey Baggs and a sister Elsie Strange. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Alberta and David Love of Oak Grove; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Wade Guinn of Oak Grove; son and daughter-in-law, Rosavel and Sharon Monk of Pearl, Mississippi; daughter, Sheila Riddell of El Dorado, Arkansas; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Hester Baggs of Longdale, Oklahoma; brother, Orville Baggs of JaQuin, Texas; brother, John Baggs of Odessa, Texas; sister, Grethal Oliver of Coushatta, Louisiana and sister Ruth Clark of Edwards, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Pallbearers are: Junior Sherman, Ricky Compton, Donald Young, Clarence Strange, Willie Strange and Larry McCowan. Honorary Pallbearers are: Ray Dye and Tim Parker. Family will receive friends at the funeral home all day Thursday and Friday until 10PM.
