Private family services will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2013, for Rosemary Chennault Simrall of West Monroe at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum chapel under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. A memorial reception will be held in her honor at Chennault Aviation and Military Museum on Kansas Lane from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday. Jimmy Fordham will lead a special missing-man formation fly-over at 4:30 p.m. at the Museum.

Rosemary was born on September 27, 1928, to Claire Lee Chennault and Nell Thompson Chennault in San Antonio, Texas, and passed away August 25, 2013, in Shreveport. She worked for Prudential Life Insurance Company for 28 years. She volunteered at Pine Grove Church in the nursery for more than 20 years, loving every baby church members brought to her.

Rosemary loved her family, which included most of the people she came in contact with. One of her proudest achievements was being a founding member of Chennault Aviation and Military Museum. She was an active Friends Board member and Membership Chairman until her death.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Simrall; parents, General Claire Lee and Nell Thompson Chennault; six brothers: Jack, Max, Pat, Charles, David and Bobby Chennault; and sister, Peggy Lee.

She is survived by her children: Norman Martien, James and wife Baolan Martien, and Nell Calloway and husband Mike; grandchildren, Michael Calloway, Robin Meadows, Amanda Rutherford, Paul Martien, Sarah Martien, and Angela Duncan; and great-grandchildren, Christian and Aimee Calloway, Jake and Samuel Meadows, Kayla Vanderburg, Aubrey Rutherford and Aiden Duncan.
