OBITUARY :
HELEN RUTH SCHROYER, 89, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Wednesday February 25, 2015 at Quincy Home & Village of Quincy, PA.
Born October 14, 1925 in Cavetown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Russell S. & Jenny Rebecca (Barkman) Pryor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert W. Schroyer in 1969.
She attended Smithsburg Schools.
Helen was a member of Macedonia United Brethren Church of Greencastle, PA, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son David E. Barkdoll and wife Judith of Greencastle, one daughter Doris H. Cantner and husband Terry of Hagerstown, one daughter-in-law Darla N. Schroyer and fiance Jim Shew of Waynesboro, two sisters Betty Brunner of Chewsville and June Manspeaker of Smithsburg, seven grandchildren Ty L. Barkdoll and wife Delea, Karla K. Barkdoll, Sean F. Cantner and wife Jessica, Scott A. Cantner & wife Jennifer, Jeremy T. Cantner, Howard W. Schroyer and Lisa F. Seburn and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Gaynell Cline & Connie Wilkenson, five brothers Alvey Pryor, Percy Pryor, Carroll Pryor, Harold Pryor and Ralph Pryor and four step children Albert O. Schroyer, Russell E. Schroyer, Shirley J. Rogers and Ruth Ann Schroyer.
Services will be held Monday March 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, with Pastor Milton Herroled officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wolfsville, MD.
The family will receive friends Sunday March 1, 2015 from 2-4pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project at P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
