Charles Francis Earp, son of Francis and Melvina Earp, was born at Monmouth, Ill., June 20, 1867 and passed from this life on February 4, 1941 at his home in Waukee at the age of 73 years, eight months and 14 days. He came with his parents to Iowa in the spring of 1874 where his life has been spent. July 14, 1892 he was married to Miss Carrie Alice Richmond at Winterset, Iowa. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Roy Hammond of Los Angeles, Calif.; Lester and Nile Earp of Waukee. He was converted and united with the Methodist church at 23 years of age. During his long illness he was reconsecrated to the Lord. He leaves to mourn his going his wife, Carrie Alice Earp, his three children, two brothers and three sisters, Mrs. John Johnson of Earlham; Mrs. Lucy Bay of Onaga, Kan.; Mrs. Frank Clearwater of Van Meter; Otis G. Earp of West Des Moines and Joseph J. Earp of Booneville; also five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, four sisters and one brother.
