HARLEY CARTER
NEOSHO, Mo.--Harley C. Carter, 75, Neosho route 2, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sale Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.
Mr. Carter was born Dec. 27, 1914, at Berryville, Ark. He moved at the age of 9 to Neosho, where he lived most of his life. He was a carpenter and dairy farmer, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Belfast Church of Christ, west of Neosho.
He married Tina Homuth in September 1946. She died Jan. 3, 1976. He married Pauline Hubbard on April 5, 1976, at Miami, Okla. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Donald Carter, Neosho, route 2; a sister Ruth Long, Shawnee, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodard-Freund-Thompson Funeral Home. Riley Jay, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Neosho IOOF Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Janss, Stanley Janss, David Noah, Dan Noah, Jack Kraft and Elza Richards.
Contributions amy be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
