Essie Mae Martin

LONGVIEW - Essie Mae Martin, 87, formerly of Hereford, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Hereford with the Rev. Jim Bullin, pastor of Avenue Baptist Church in Hereford, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Cemetery in Hereford.

Mrs. Martin was born Dec. 20, 1917, in Chester to Edgar and Dovie Lockhart. She married Raymond E. Martin on Oct. 28, 1978, in Hereford.

Survivors include two sons, John E. Meador and David M. Meador, both of Eldorado; a daughter, Janice Meador Vines of Diana; two brothers, Gene Lockhart of Livingston and Everett Lockhart of Beaumont; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity.
