IRA L. STEVENS
Ira L. Stevens, 65, of the Town of Caroline, died at his home Saturday evening, Jan. 31.
A World War I veteran, he was a painter by trade and had lived in Caroline for about 15 years.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lola Stevens of Ithaca; two sons, Carl Stevens of Lawton, Okla., and Howard Stevens of Buffalo; three daughters, Mrs. Taisto Kumpula and Mrs. Everett Montgomery of Spencer and Mrs. Allen McDowell of Livingston Manor; 15 grandchildren; four brothers, Harry and William Stevens of Brooktondale, Wilbur Stevens of Spencer and Clarence Stevens of Candor; and six sisters, Mrs. Julia Stevens, Mrs. Mina Warner and Mrs. Gladys Ostrander, all of Ithaca, Mrs. Pearl DePutron and Mrs. Alice Terwilliger of Brooktondale and Mrs. Joseph Scharf of Candor.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Miller Funeral Home, Candor. The Rev. William G. Williams of the Brooktondale Church of the Nazarene officiated. Burial was in Quick Cemetery, Brooktondale.
