Wilbur E. Stevens, 77, of West Candor, Town of Spencer, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 1966, unexpectedly at his home.

Mr. Stevens was born in Brooktondale, N.Y., October 18, 1888, the son of the late Wilbur and Salomi Lynch Stevens.  He was a retired farmer, living most of his life in this area.  Mr. Stevens was a member of the Dairymen's League.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Vanderpool Stevens of Spencer; two sons, Rodney Stevens of Candor and Ronald Stevens of Spencer; three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Nurmi of Spencer, Mrs. Martha Camp of Owego, and Mrs. Myrtle Selig of San Bernardino, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Susie Scharf of Candor, Miss Julia Stevens and Mrs. Mina Davenport, both of Ithaca, Mrs. Pearl DePutron and Mrs. Alice Terwilliger, both of Brooktondale; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 25, at the Allen Funeral Home, Spencer, N.Y., Rev. Thomas Lange, pastor of the Spencer Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Spencer.  Friends may call at the Allen Funeral Home, Spencer, Thursday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and in the evening 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
