Dorothy L. Howard, 93, Indianapolis and formerly of Sandborn, passed away Monday morning, August 2, 2010. Born October 18, 1916 in Elnora, she was the daughter of Curtis and Osia Rader Lynn. She married Ira A. Howard on May 20, 1936. Dorothy was a member of the Sandborn United Methodist Church and the Englewood Order of Eastern Star. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all. Survivors include two sons: James A. Howard of Fountaintown, IN and Elmer C. Howard of Indianapolis; three daughters: Marilyn Durham, Greenwood; Beverly Wheeler, Indianapolis; Barbara Pate, Greenwood; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren.Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, four sisters and two granddaughters.Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Lyons.
