Elizabeth was born on Sept. 3, 1910, in Wallingford, daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Audette) Gardner. She lived her entire life in Wallingford, and at 93 she became part of the Ashlar Village Community. While there she enjoyed taking part in pastel classes and other activities. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Wallingford Senior Center.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Jane Smith, of Wallingford, and Ellen (Richard) Shea, of Arizona. She also leaves four granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her sisters, Claudia Myers and Helen Ostens; along with a brother, Clarence Gardner; and a son-in-law, Donald W. Smith.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service on Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m. in Auditorium A at Ashlar Village in Wallingford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Northford Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice .
