SPRING GROVE, Ky. — Robert "Bobby" Shofner, 83, Spring Grove, died Tuesday, 2 August 2011, at his residence.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield. He worked construction and on the Uniontown Lock and Dam. He later retired from the state highway department.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Abell Shofner, who died in 2005; and his parents, Jess and Lula Shofner.

Survivors include three sisters, Myrtle Babbs and Alice Hodgson, both of Henderson, and Rosella Breeding of Evansville; one brother, Jess Shofner Jr. of Spring Grove; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today at St. Ann Catholic Church. The Rev. Gerald Baker will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Ann Catholic School.
