Jane A. Lankford was the daughter of Braxton Bragg Lankford and Susannah (Susan) Dalton Lankford. She married George William Rhodes about 1845.
The couple had 12 children.
She was listed on the 1910 census living as a widow with Vance Garrison Rhodes in Tryon.
Her date of death is not known and a marked or decipherable stone cannot be located.

Her father, Braxton Bragg Lankford, was the son of Robert Lankford (1756-1831) and Sybil "Sibby" Taylor Lankford (1761-1845). He married Susannah Dalton on Jan. 16, 1817. The couple had 14 children.
He lived on land bordering the Old Howard Gap Road. Several references to him have Dr. before his name. He and his brother, Nathan, served in the War of 1812.
His grave site has not been located.

Robert Lankford, the father of Braxton Bragg Lankford, was a Revolutionary war veteran. From an old Rutherford County newspaper published May 28, 1831: "Died on Tryon Mountain, on Wednesday, the 11th; Robert Lankford Sr., age about 75. Mr. Lankford was a Revolutionary War soldier."
His wife, Sybil "Sibby" Taylor, was the daughter of Lewis Taylor and Nancy. Her mother was said to be of Indian descent. Her sister, Elizabeth, married a brother of Robert Lankford.

Susannah Dalton Lankford was the daughter of William Dalton and Charlot Johnson Dalton. William Dalton was a Revolutionary War veteran. His pension statement details his service. His grave site has not been located.
