Ronald E. Winkler, age 70 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 8:51 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a sweeper for the Illinois Cereal Mill and a United States Army veteran.
Mr. Winkler was born October 6, 1941 in Paris, Illinois to the late Lorenzo and Katherine (Malone) Winkler. He married Caren (Davis) Winkler September 2, 1961 in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Paris, Illinois and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters; Debbie Wallace of Paris, Illinois, Angie Comstock of Paris, Illinois, Wendy (Wilbur) Elledge of Brocton, Illinois, Heidi (Brant) Walls of Paris, Illinois, and Gretchen (Mike) Biddle of Paris, Illinois, two brothers Raymond Edward Winkler of Pennsylvania and Lorenzo Winkler, Jr. of Paris, Illinois, one sister Sis Rhoads of Paris, Illinois, seventeen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Winkler will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 211 and VFW Post 3601.
