Howard Devold Fletcher, 82, of Smithfield, Mo passed from this life on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo.

Howard was born on June 11, 1932 in Galena, KS to the union of Galen Claude and Sylvia (Frizzell) Fletcher.

Howard attended the Cherokee County Rural High School, Columbus, KS.

Howard was united in marriage to Lois Mae (Weaver) Fletcher at Carrol County, Arkansas in 1951. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2013.

Howard worked in shipping and receiving for the former Sperry Vickers, last working in 1971. He then spent his time dedicated to his family farm, where he farmed, raised cattle and at one time hogs.

Howard was a member and elder of the Smithfield Christian Church for more than fifty years. He also taught Sunday school at the Smithfield Christian Church.

He enjoyed quail hunting, fishing, coon hunting and his favorite hobby was work. If you knew Howard he could motivate anyone to do anything.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.

Howard is survived by one daughter, Gail Kennedy and husband Bob; four sons, Doug Fletcher and wife Yvonne, Russ Fletcher and wife Lisa, Clint Fletcher and wife Mari, and Curt Fletcher with Kathy Davis; one sister Norma Thomas; thirteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Smithfield Christian Church.

Burial will follow in the Mound Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Smithfield Christian Church from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
