She is survived by four nephews, Ben P. Boney and wife Betty of Mebane, NC, Carey C. Boney and wife Becky of Wallace, NC, James RH Sprinkle and wife Alice of Raleigh, NC and Michael D. Sprinkle and wife Cindy of Anderson, SC, two nieces, Christie B. Weaver of Pawleys Island, SC and Ann S. Ramsey and husband Bob of Raleigh, NC and many great nieces and nephews.
Jessie was born on October 1, 1924 in New Hanover County, NC, to the late Carey L. and Jessie Fleetwood Carter and was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Jones and three sisters, Harriet Rebecca Carter Graham, Ann Carter Sprinkle and Susan Carter Boney.
Jessie was a member of Wallace First Baptist Church. She loved to collect ideas for home decorating from magazines and loved animals, especially cats and dogs. She worked in the personnel department at Mead Corporation in Atlanta, GA for 30 years. She attended Peace College in Raleigh, NC, Queens College in Charlotte, NC and RPI College in Richmond, VA. She was also a fashion model in New York and Richmond, VA. Ms. Jessie was known as a "Big Dreamer".
The Carter and Boney families would like to thank everyone who ever displayed kindness to Ms. Jessie and went out of their way to help her manage her affairs from home. "It took a village to sustain Ms. Jessie".
Casketbearers will be members of the Wallace Police Department.
