Wanda May Baker, 82 of Oshkosh, WI passed away on February 18, 2015 at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh, after suffering a stroke a few weeks ago.
Wanda was born in Bridgman, MI to Zelma (Mead) and William Johns. She was married in 1949 to Melvin Baker and graduated from Bridgman High School in 1950. After high school, Melvin served in the Army in Germany while Wanda worked at Simplicity Pattern Company in Michigan. Upon Melvin’s return from service, Wanda was a homemaker raising her three children and enjoyed the company of family and friends.
Wanda especially enjoyed spending time with her best friends from Havenwood and her trips to the Senior Center.
Wanda is survived by her sister, Gladys Wales of Dowagiac, MI; three children, Steve Baker of Clayton, NC, Nancy Koncur of Rochester, MN, and Dr. Phillip (June) Baker of Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren, Joseph Koncur (Jasmine) of Rochester, MN, Adrienne Koncur of West Fargo, ND, David Koncur (Ashly) of Coon River MN, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Laura Baker all of Oshkosh, Christopher and Jeff Baker of Fayettevile, AR, Leslie Baker of Houston, TX and James Baker of Wake Forest, NC; Three great-grandchildren, Charles, Emma and Michaela.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Mary Shafer and Ruby Critzer; and her brother, (Robert) Mickey Johns.
Funeral Services for Wanda will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 9:30 until time of service. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations in Wanda’s name go to the Oshkosh Senior Center.
