She worked in the alterations department at Jones Merchantile, was a former Pink Lady at R. T. Jones Memorial Hospital and was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Ty Hopkins, Rev. Doug Lusk and Rev. Aubrey Blanton officiating. Interment followed in Macedonia Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of over 70 years, Dillard Blanton, Canton; sons, Benny Blanton and Wayne Blanton, Canton; daughters, Delene Watkins and Judy Hopkins, Canton; sister, Billie Johnson, Canton; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
