Funeral services for M.E. "Panama" Shiflett of Richmond, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Rosenberg. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Shiflett died Wednesday night in a Houston hospital. He was born in Weldon and had been a pipeline contractor and a rancher.
Survivors include his wife, Laverne Shiflett of Richmond; three daughters, Sammie Karen Robinson of Bryan, Yolanda Gayle Lambright of Carthage, and Carol Jean Johnson of Richmond; three sons, Paul Ellis Shiflett of Navasota, Jimmy Dewayne Shiflett of Carthage, and Marvin Ellis Shiflett Jr. of Richmond; sisters, Mary Sides of Trinity, Hazel Ivins of Weldon, Ella Mae Tolbert of Alta Loma, and Naomi Coulter of Houston; brothers, Virgil L. Shiflett of Angleton and W.H. "Cooney" Shiflett of Beaumont; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
