Ira Buffard Berry of Fair Play, Missouri passed away Tuesday January 27th in Lamar, Mo.
Ira was born in Miller, Mo. on August 25, 1931 to Wiley Bernard Berry and Ova Olivia (Bishop) Berry.
Ira grew up in rural Cedar county, married Pat and they made a home in Fair Play, Mo., where they raised two children Vincent Dale Aragon and Victoria Gayle (Aragon) Thompson.
Ira worked many years as a farm hand doing various farm work. Later he worked for the City of Fair Play as a maintenance worker where he retired. He was a member of the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Fair Play where he attended regularly. Ira enjoyed hunting and our annual trips to deer camp on the family property. He could also be found watching wrestling several nights a week on tv but his favorite past-time was just sitting on the porch watching people and making conversation.
Survivors include one son, Vincent Dale, one daughter, Victoria Gayle and five grandchildren; Adrian Thompson, Benjamin Thompson, Finnegan Thompson, Sydney Aragon and Evan Aragon all of the St. Louis metro area; one sister, Alice Coffin of Upton, Mass.; two brothers, Clyde (Red) Berry of Lamar, Mo. and Lewis Berry of Springfield, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
Ira was preceded in death by his parents, Wyley and Ova; three sisters, Mildred Kennon, Marie Criasia, and Priscilla Conrad; two brothers, Archie Berry and Bob Berry.
Pallbearers were John Kennon, Lee Kennon, Adrian Thompson, Tom Thompson, Vincent Aragon, Dewey Rumfelt.
Services were Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Brumback Funeral Home with burial in Hamby Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 2 to 4 pm in the funeral home.
