Melvin Lloyd Howell, 77, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at The Villages at Historic Silvercrest in New Albany, Indiana. He was born on May 9, 1937 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Charles L. and Ethel M. (Barley) Howell. Melvin was a retired machinist for Beech Mold and Tool in New Albany, Indiana, served in the U.S. Army and liked to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his parents,
three brothers, James, Leon and William Thomas Howell and two sisters, Patty Lou Howell and Norma J. Gabbard. Survivors include three daughters, Joanna (Doug) Nevil of Palmyra, Indiana, Shirley (Jimmy) Sarver of Crawfordsville, Indiana and Ellen (Rob) Howell-Thompson of Waynetown, Indiana; three brothers, Harold Howell of Scottsburg, Indiana, Johnny Howell of Little York, Indiana
and Ervin Howell of South Haven, Michigan; three sisters, Beverly Ledford of Campbellsburg, Indiana, Betty Humphrey of Salem, Indiana and Katherine Hunter of Linden, Indiana; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
