Donald O. Oesterling, 85, of Bedford, VA, formerly of Butler, PA, Harrisburg, PA and Fort Myers, FL passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Elks National Home in Bedford, VA.
He was born June 2, 1927 in Butler, PA, the son of the late Victor K. and Marjorie (Oswald) Oesterling.
Donald was a PA Senator from 1964-1972, past state President of PA Elks, past Exalter Ruler of Butler Elks 170, a member of the American Legion Post #0852 and VFW Post #249.
Surviving are his wife, Ann (McDowell) Oesterling of Bedford, VA; a daughter, Dawn Prebula of Los Angeles, CA; 2 sons, Michael J. Oesterling of Potomac, MD and Peter J. Oesterling of Baltimore, OH; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Samuel Oesterling of Cabot, PA and Thomas O. Oesterling of Naples, FL.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Matthew Oesterling.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
