Mrs. Phillips was a native of Hawkins County, but had lived in Greene County for the last four years. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of the Latter Day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas and Sarah Ward Bruner; one daughter, Helen Ruth Allen; brothers, Hobert Bruner, Reed Bruner, John Bruner, Roy Bruner; sisters, Ollie Mae Mitchell, Rosa Kate Bruner, Minnie Bruner and Emily Bruner.
Surviving are two sons, Leonard William Phillips, West Virginia and Charles Monroe Phillips; three daughters. Bessie Jane Dunsmore, Kingsport, Ida Mae Paty, Macon, Ga., and Mary Ellen Winters, Dallas, Texas; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home, Church Hill.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bud Beverly officiating
