Sue was born November 7, 1955, in Corning, Iowa, the daughter of Robert G. and Elsie (Brown) Huber. She graduated from Washington High School and from Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Special Education. Sue was united in marriage to Dale Spencer on August 11, 1979 at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington.
Sue was a reading teacher for Washington Community Schools for 18 years until health forced her retirement in 2013. She was a faithful member of the United Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Local and International Mission Team, helping with over 20 mission trips. She was an Elder, High School Youth Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Sue served as the treasurer for the Washington Community Theater and was the past president and treasurer of the Washington Education Association where she was on the negotiations team for 20 years. Sue was an active member of PEO, Chapter OC.
Sue was preceded in death by her mother in 2012 and her father in 2014.
