He was a son of the late Joseph Cephus. Gammon and Letha Leath Gammon.

C.A. Jimmy” Gammon, 83, of Bowling Green died at 9:05 p.m. March 21, 2006, at his residence. The Macon County, Tenn., native was manager of Kroger and Houchens Markets, past owner of L & N Market in Smiths Grove, a former employee of R.C. Bottling Co. and part time employee of Jim Johnson's. He was a member of First Free Methodist Church and Odd Fellows and was past chairman of the bloodmobile. He was a son of the late Joseph C. Gammon and Letha Leath Gammon. He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

Funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 1027 Broadway Ave., Bowling Green, KY 42104.

Survivors include his wife, Earlene Tabor Gammon; a daughter, Deborah Neelan and her husband, Jeff, of Scottsville; a son, Danny L. Gammon and his wife, Janet, of San Antonio; two sisters, Hazel Haley of Bowling Green and Loretta Duncan of Lafayette, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Sean Lee Gammon and his wife, Tina, and Shane Gammon and his wife, Annmarie, all of San Antonio, Chad Gammon and Deirdre Rainville and her husband, Chad, all of Bowling Green, and Traci Wilkinson and her husband, Jay, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
