MCPHERSON, MERLE B. - Merle the widow of the late Charles McPherson passed away peacefully at the Whitehall Estates, Hampton.

Born 1917 on Campobello Island the eldest daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Fletcher) Anthony.

Merle graduated from Saint John High School, attended Normal School then began her career as a teacher in Charlotte County where she met her husband Charles. She taught in Simonds School District for many years during that time she attained her Bachelors of Education through UNBSJ.

Devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Merle loved to knit, play cards and enjoyed shopping. Merle was a former member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge.

Besides her parents, Merle was predeceased by her husband, Charles; son, Walter; grandson, Glenn Taylor; sister, Edith Johnson; brothers, Wesley, Millidge, Waitstill, James, Graeme, Willard, Ralph and Ronald.

Interment at Fernhill Cemetery.
