Ray was born in the house on John St. in Los Angeles. He was named by his Aunt Mandy (Lee) LaGier. He remembers going out to visit his Uncle Ed Stokes on his ranch when Ray was 5 or 6 years old (after his parents had moved into town.) He rode horses there with the cowboys in the summers for a few years. He remembers a Christmas at 6 years when his brother, Frank, got an "Express Wagon" and Ray didn't (he had always wanted one.) Ray and Frank went out under the oak tree in front of their house and filled the wagon with acorns. Growing up Ray lived in houses on Maltman, Bellvue, and Michiltorino. Ray remembers "dog trotting" from the Maltman house to Calabasas to visit his Uncle Joe and Aunt Pearl Lee. It would take him 4 or 5 hours and, since he had to be there by dark, there was no "dilly dallying" along the way. Ray was connected with the FBI during WW II at the Los Angeles Harbor. Ray was living in Van Nuys, California in 1995.
