Caroline immigrated to the United States from Germany arriving in Baltimore on Feb. 12, 1887 aboard the Ship Herman. She accompanied her husband, Franz Halbe, age 31, and their two children, August, age 3, and Carrie, age 1.
Racine Journal News, Wed. Jan. 4, 1922. Mrs. Caroline Binn, aged 64 years, passed away at the home of Mrs. Ida Braun, 2091 West High street. She was a kind and loving mother. She leaves to mourn her loss, seven children, four sons and three daughters, five grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock in Sacred Heart church, Northwestern avenue. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.
