He was a retired aircraft mechanic for Vought Aircraft in Grand Prairie, where he worked on the B-2 Stealth Bomber and other military aircraft.
Dale belonged to the Episcopalian faith.
Dale married Edith Prine in 1957, in Ennis, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Edith (Prine) Ditmore in 2005 (April 16, 1937 - August 23, 2005).
He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Dunson and husband Scott of Grand Prairie, Tracy Knight of Dallas; brother, Martin Doyle Ditmore of Weatherford, OK; and four grandchildren, Alran Dale Dunson, Megan Knight, Cullen Knight, and Hayden Knight.
