Edith Bangor, 78, a longtime resident of Hazleton, passed away peacefully Sept. 19 in her home at Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. She moved to Hawaii in 2006 to be with her daughter, Marianne. Edith enjoyed the sunshine and the alo­ha from the many peo­ple she met in Hawaii.

Born in Hazleton on Jan. 3, 1930, she was the daughter of Mary and Bernard Van Gros­ki and graduated from Hazle­ton Area High School in 1947. She was employed by Bell Telephone for 37 years in Hazleton, Levittown and Fort Lauderdale, and was active in The Deborah Foundation. Edith was a longtime mem­ber of Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton.

She is survived by children, Tony, Hazleton; Marianne, Hawaii; and Jim, Florida; a sister, Bernice Harman, Sel­byville, Delaware; eight grandchil­dren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her last rites were said in Hawaii by Father Al in Kai­lua-Kona. Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawaii. A Mass will be said for Edith at Our Lady of Grace Church at a later date. Contributions can be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Foundation.
