She was a daughter of the late William Franklin and Anna Lee Smith Miller. In addition to her parents, Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, Humphrey Jones, Jr., in 2009, a daughter, Barbara Cooper, three sisters, Laura Elizabeth Miller, Marie Foley and Bernice Goss, two brothers, Bruce and John Miller.

She worked many years in retail sales of ladies and children’s clothing, and also seamstress, primarily with King’s Department Store and Masengill’s Specialty Shop.

Nadine was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Faithful Workers Class, Ladies Adult Sunday School Class, and other senior adult activities.

She was a member of the Watauga Association of Genealogists and the family historian, having researched and published history of her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Nadine was active with the Young at Hearts Senior Group and a volunteer for Contact Ministries of Johnson City.

She loved history, growing flowers and vegetables in her gardens, reading, crafts, and most of all, she loved her daughters greatly.

The funeral service was conducted Monday, February 25, 2013, at 8:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of the Appalachian Funeral Home.

The graveside committal service were held Tuesday, Febuary 26, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. in Mt. Wesley Methodist Church Cemetery, Telford.
