Roberta Patterson, born in Guam in 1925 to Robert and Elizabeth Lewis, died peacefully at her home in San Rafael, Calilfornia, on October 27, 2014. Raised in England and the eastern US, she moved to Marin County in 1941 when her father, who retired from the US Navy as a Rear Admiral, was assigned to the San Francisco Net Base.

While married to the late Harding McPhun, she raised two sons: Daniel, who resides in Park City, Utah with his wife Kristen, and Bruce, who preceded her in death.

Her family expanded with a second marriage to US Army Colonel Chet Patterson in 1981. Chet predeceased her in 2006, and his sons Randy and Michael live in Oregon. Her brother Edward (Ted) Lewis of Auburn, and cousin Richard Brewer of Belvedere, died shortly prior to Roberta.

Roberta was very active in civic affairs and volunteered as a docent with the Asian Art Museum for many years where she developed a passion for Asian art and antiques. She also enjoyed family heritage, antiques, horses, sailing, skiing, and golf.

There was a memorial service at Villa Marin on November 19, 2014. She was then interred with her husband Chet at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery near Dixon, California.
