Services for Lyon Olonzo Brower, 92, a former Montgomery City resident were held Friday, September 30, at Schlanker Funeral Home. Mr. Brower died September 26, 1988 at the Audrain Medical Center. The Rev. Evelyn Bedell officiated and burial was in the Montgomery City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Fry, John Fry, Curtis Zuroweste, Kevin Zuroweste, Dale Wayne Brower, and Marcus Deeker. Mr. Brower was a veteran of World War I and a retired farmer. He was born January 10, 1896, in Portland, a son of Emery and Permelia Clement Brower. On May 17, 1924, he married Goldie Boulden, who died May 27, 1978. Survivors include two daughters. Mrs. John (Martha) Zuroweste of Auxvasse and Mrs. Larry (Ruby) Key of Kansas City; four sons, Alva O. Brower of Tacoma, Washington, Billie Brower of Bellflower, William Brower of Silex, and Floyd Brower of Kansas City; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles H. Brower, Kansas City; and a sister, Bessie Fry, New Florence. He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie.
